I'm so glad you're here. I'm Liz and I'm a fiber artist living and working in upstate South Carolina. New works will be added here and through the social links at the bottom of this page, so take your time and drop a line if you have any questions or if you'd like to bring one of these pieces home.
I can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing. Most kids carried a favorite toy with them. I carried a homemade sketchbook and pencil with me at all times. My final semester of Coastal Carolina University's Art Studio program, I needed one more art class to graduate, and the only one available was an exploratory Fiber Arts class. From day one, I was hooked.
All of my work is hand or machine embroidered, or a combination of both, on fabric (usually cotton) and occasionally incorporates acrylic paint.
I've always been inspired by the beauty, resilience, and struggles of women. My work seeks to tell women's stories through embroidery, a medium long-maligned as "women's work" in an effort to elevate the medium and to reclaim it as a valid art form in its own right.
